Tagwave: WiFi QR & NFC Tags Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Summary

Your WiFi passwords, saved items, business card and tag history stay on your device. Tagwave has no account, no cloud sync and no analytics, and nothing you create is sent to a server. Subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat.

This policy covers the Tagwave: WiFi QR & NFC Tags app for iPhone and iPad, published by mk0.net, an independent app studio. It is written from what the app actually does in its code. Questions: [email protected].

What we receive

Nothing. We have no accounts or servers for this app, and nothing you save in it is sent to us.

What stays on your device

  • Your saved items (WiFi networks and passwords, links, business cards, texts, phone numbers, events and other content), folders, favorites, QR styles and print templates are stored on this device.
  • Logos and business card photos you add are stored in the app's own storage on this device. The app only sees the pictures you pick; it has no access to the rest of your library.
  • A history of the tags you read and write, with the tag type, serial number, memory size, lock status and a short summary of the content, is stored only on this device.
  • Your settings and the daily count of free tag writes are stored on this device.
  • The widgets read a small summary that the app saves on the same device: the names of your favorites, your last tag activity and the app language. WiFi passwords are never part of it, so widgets never show a password.

We cannot see this data. It is not uploaded to us.

Permissions the app may ask for

  • NFC: Used only when you start reading, writing or locking a tag. The system shows the scan sheet; nothing is read or written in the background.
  • Camera: Optional. Asked only when you open the QR scanner, to read QR codes. Images are processed on your device and not stored.
  • Photos: No permission is needed to pick a logo or a card photo: the system photo picker hands over only the picture you choose. If you save a QR code image to Photos from the share sheet, iOS may ask for permission to add it; Tagwave cannot read your library.
  • Contacts: No permission is needed. When you fill your business card from Contacts, the system contact picker hands over only the contact you choose; Tagwave cannot read your address book.
  • Notifications: Optional and off by default. Asked only when you turn notifications on in Settings. Tips and reminders are scheduled on your device; there are no push messages from a server.

Every permission is optional and can be changed later in the iPhone Settings app. Features that need a permission you decline simply stay unavailable.

Data that leaves your device

The app talks to the following services. Each receives only what is listed, and only for the purpose shown.

  • RevenueCat (subscription management): Used to handle your subscription: an anonymous user ID, purchase and subscription status, and basic device and app information. Nothing you save in Tagwave is sent. Their privacy policy.

Sensitive information

WiFi passwords and contact details are entered by you and never leave your device unless you share a QR code, write a tag, print a card or export a backup file yourself. Backup files can contain your WiFi passwords in plain text, and the app reminds you to keep them somewhere safe.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, Apple ID, card or payment details. The app checks your subscription status through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous ID and your purchase status, not your identity.

Ads, tracking and analytics

No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, and no data is sold. The app contains no analytics SDK and no AI features.

Account

No account needed.

Children

Tagwave: WiFi QR & NFC Tags is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Keeping and deleting your data

Settings > Delete all data removes everything the app stored on this device, including saved items, styles, folders, tag history, widget data and settings. Backup files are saved only where you choose. Deleting the app also removes all of its data from this device.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or KVKK), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. Because the app keeps your records on your own device, you can do most of this directly in the app or by deleting it. For anything else, or for data held by a service listed above, email [email protected] and we will help within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date below before the change ships.
